December 18, 2007

Merry Christmas!  It seems like it was just Thanksgiving and now there's just a week before the big day.  Schmitty is almost finished with the 2007, 2nd term DVD and we will, hopefully, be able to mail those and 1st terms on Monday.  We are waiting on the printer to finish the yearbooks and calendars and it looks like we may have to mail them on Wednesday after Christmas.  There will still be plenty of time left to share your camp memories from the summer of 2007 with all your friends and family over the holidays.  Remember, if you are NOT registered for 2008, you will not receive a DVD ~ so call or email and we can be sure your name is on the list.  We wish all of our Camp Honey Creek family a very Merry Christmas and here's hoping 2008 will be a healthy and happy year for everyone.  Thanks for all the great Christmas cards ~ we love them!

Jill Hickman is looking forward to watching the Camp DVDs and seeing "how stupid she looks."  She is ready for June and is staying busy painting cabinets in her new home.

Perin Pearce came for lunch today and is doing great.  Her job and her son keep her busy and she is almost ready for Christmas.

Abbey & Maggie Dolan are moving to Temple on December 28th.  They will miss Kerrville but will definitely be at Camp this summer.  We hope so, girls.

Elisa Schmitt recently starred in her first play, "King Midas and the Touch of Gold."  She had a great time and loved being in the spotlight (imagine that).  Cousin, Mary O'Brien, and sister, Kathryn, had a good time watching her.  Kathryn and Elisa will come for a short visit after Christmas and that is always fun.

Katie Dabbs misses us and talks to several of her camp friends online from time to time.  She reports that some of her counselor buddies are planning a trip to Australia in the future and that makes her happy.  She sends virtual hugs and kisses to all her Camp friends.

Stace Bycroft was able to kiss a kangaroo for her birthday instead of a deer.  It was almost the same, but not quite.  She sends her love to all.

Brenna Casey sent us an Elf greeting with pictures of herself, Meryll, Katie and Hannah.  Brenna is very busy in school with all of her performances.  She was cast for the Spring opera and will perform her senior recital in April.  She thinks back to her time as a Pawnee Piper and can't believe she has come so far.  She is so thankful for all that Camp has given her and wishes every girl could go to Camp to meet such great friends and have fun like she did.  We do too, Brenna.

Katie Kovar and Ashley Inglet stopped by a week ago for a brief visit.  They were already out of school for the semester and were enjoying their time off.  Ashley will student teach in the Spring although she is unsure of her assignment at this date.  Katie had a 4.0 this semester and is very pleased with herself.  We are proud of you, girls!

Haylee Smallwood stays busy with 8th grade and plays trombone in the honors band.  She is making great grades and sends her love to Jack (the horse).

Anavilly Estrada sent us a cute picture of her new puppy, Leah, that her boyfriend gave her for her birthday.  She is a two-month old Yorkshire terrier and is precious.  Anavilly is looking forward to her Christmas celebration with her family and then they will all go on a cruise for New Year's.    She also reports that sister, Lupita, is pregnant with her second child and everyone is hoping for a girl!  Go, Lupita!

Kathleen Cunnane has to have her wisdom teeth out over the holidays and is thankful that cabinmate, Desie Baker, will be visiting to help her recover.  Kathleen is already sick of the snow and is ready to be back in Texas at Camp Honey Creek!  She talked with Anna-Brooke Gutzler on the phone recently and they are planning to be counselors together this summer.  We sure hope so, girls.
