Jaclyn Youngblood enjoyed watching her DVDs ~ they made her laugh. Her crew team won state championships (all that canoe experience, right Jaclyn?), playing basketball, and applying to various colleges. She has been accepted into TCU and is still waiting to hear from Rice, Duke, UVA, Richmond and George Washington.
Elizabeth Flowers wrote us a great email about how much she enjoyed her huge cabin this past summer. She says that Camp Honey Creek is a safe haven for her where she can grow and learn important life lessons without interference or anyone judging her. She realized that as an older camper, she is a role model to others and that has carried over to her cheerleading experience. Her coach wanted her to mentor younger girls as he thought she was such a great role model. Isn't Camp great, Elizabeth?
Katie Kovar has moved into a new apartment this semester and was getting a new job as a waitress. Haven't heard how that is going, guess that might be funny?
Annie Thompson was bummed she was missing the Dallas movies because of a wedding out of town. She is going to Columbia College in Chicago in the fall. She is still trying to decide if she will be a counselor this summer ~ yes, Annie!
Lisette Beverido writes from Mexico City that she is working as a bilingual teacher at a new school.
Marianna & Virginia Seal are busy with tennis. Virginia got a phone for Christmas and her Mom is very glad she has unlimited texting. Don't bring it to camp, Virginia! Marianna won a tournament in the Super Champ Major Zone. More importantly, she was awarded the Maurine Connolly Brinker Sportsmanship Award out of 493 players for her honesty and integrity during the tournament. You go, Marianna ~ we are so proud of you!
Tracy Toews emailed us that she is living and working in Houston as a nurse and was recently engaged.
Laura Richard is transferring to Texas State and will major in Education so she can teach middle school English. She hopes to work her schedule out so she can be at Camp 2nd term ~ we sure hope so, Laura!
Alyssa Bolin's picture was on the front page of the Kerrville Daily Times with her steer at the stock show. The steer was huge and Alyssa was a winner!
Kathleen Cunnane is still trying to get us to go to Denver to recruit ~ that's a long road trip, Kathleen!
Riley Sanchez is excited about Camp and loves her calendar, yearbook and DVD. She has lots of friends that are interested in Camp and we hope they make the right choice!
