Happy New Year! Can't believe the holidays have come and gone. We all enjoyed the time spent with good friends and family. We were able to mail all the calendars, yearbooks and DVDs before Christmas, so if you haven't received yours, let us know. Thanks for all the great Christmas cards ~ you wouldn't believe how many we receive and we appreciate them all. Now Schmitty is trying to finish the travel DVD so they can get on the road soon. Keep checking the web page for the movie schedule and make it a point to go visit with Schmitt and Nicia when they come to your town. Take a new friend and share the magic of Camp Honey Creek with others. Let us hear from you.
We have set a date for the First Light ceremony where our telescope, "Luther" will be dedicated ~ mark your calendars for May 17th ~ it's gonna be a big time at Camp Honey Creek and we want you all to come see this wonderful addition to our facility. The time has not been set, so keep checking the web page.
Kathryn & Elisa Schmitt came for a few days after Christmas and brought their new Wii game. We all had a blast playing with them and learned that we are all a little bit addicted to Wii.
Jill Hickman, Christin & Rebecca Jeffrey, Penny Jeffrey (mom) and Blake came by for a short visit. Seems like Christin had some big news for us as she and Blake are now engaged! We are so happy for both of them and approve 100%. Rebecca is doing great in Oklahoma with her dancing and stays very busy with her school work and rehearsals.
Anavilly Estrada emailed us her big news ~ yes, she is engaged too. She is unsure of the date as she and her family were on a cruise. We have met Colly and think he is a great guy as well. What's up with all these weddings?
Whitley Braziel loved her DVD, yearbook and calendar. Her sister, Kate, will come this year for the first time and we are looking forward to meeting her.
Amy Adams Blazek and husband, Chris, came by for a quick visit to show us pictures of her son's sonogram. Very exciting!
Katie Dabbs had a great Christmas and reports that Santa was very good to her.
Catye Cantrall has been accepted into her number one school, Claremont McKenna in California. She thinks her essay about Camp helped her get accepted ~ sounds good to us. She also was excited about her basketball team winning district.
Stephanie Lopez was excited about spending Christmas in Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan and sends greetings to all.
Valerie Hoover was looking forward to spending a nice quiet Christmas with her family in Alvin. She was excited to report that she has been promoted to a management position with her company and has received a nice raise and vacation. You go, Valerie.
Desie Baker was getting ready to go to Colorado and loved watching her DVD. She loves all of her camp friends and can't believe it's been six months since Merry Half.
Ana Cris Cobo sent us a beautiful email about how much Camp changed her life when she was a counselor. She misses the sunsets, teaching the girls to make bracelets, reading a book, and chatting with her girls in her bunk. Ana Cris thinks Camp should never change and it made her more responsible and thoughtful. Thanks, Ana Cris.
Kyra Mayeur is coming back to Camp this summer and that makes us very happy.
