We finally had our Carnival Saturday night ~ I wish you could be a fly on the wall and see how much fun these girls have just dancing and having fun with their friends ~ it’s incredible ~ no one wanted it to end! Thanks to our Riding Department, we had a WONDERFUL Horseshow on Sunday. The weather was just about perfect and the girls did such a good job on their horses. Yesterday after Rest Period, we had Jr Deb & Deb Waterfronts and we ended the day with “Newsies” under the stars. They go crazy with that movie ~ you should hear them screaming at the beginning ~ it’s funny. Tonight we will have the Deb Tennis Tournament, Sub Deb Archery Tournament and the Jr Deb Campcraft and Riding Clubs will go up the hill for a cook-out. Tomorrow evening is Canoe Races and everyone loves that. I guess it’s not too soon to talk about Closing ~ we mailed a schedule in Letters Home today, but just so you will know:
Friday, August 4th – the gates will open at 6:00 pm. Tribe Serenades will begin at 7:00 pm., Campers will go on their Tribe Hills at 8:00 pm., and the Princess Ceremony will begin at 9:00 pm or dark thirty. The Camp store will be open from 6:00 to 8:00 and you may check your daughter out and register for 2018 under the Veranda from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
Saturday, August 5th – The gates will open at 8:30 am, the Watershow will begin at 9:30, the Dance Performance will begin at 10:45, the Awards Ceremony will begin at 11:00 and campers will depart by noon. You may check your daughter out and register for 2018 under the Veranda from 8:30 to noon.
The campers (no meals for parents) will have an early supper on Friday in order to be ready for Serenades at 7:00 pm. Please note – no picnics Friday evening and parents should plan to eat before Serenades. We will not load luggage on Friday ~ we have a great system for loading luggage on Saturday, so please be patient. Be sure to pick up your daughter’s medicine in the Infirmary before you leave on Saturday. Also, do not ask to take your daughter early – this all may not sound important to you, but it is very important to your daughter to finish the term and to cheer for her tribe. We try very hard to stay on schedule and we ask that you take a deep breath and just enjoy the Closing events with your family and friends.
