We had Canoe Races last night and that is always a favorite activity. The canoers did a WONDERFUL job – so many close races. Good times, for sure! Today is the last day of classes and all the girls are getting things finished and passing last minute ranks. This morning the Staff served breakfast in bed to Cabin 10 as they had Honor Cabin four weeks in a row ~ this is a BIG deal and we are proud of them! Tonight we will start some practices for Closing and tomorrow they will be practicing as well. Please read the following information about our Closing activities.
Friday, August 9th – the gates will open at 6:00 pm. Tribe Serenades will begin at 7:00 pm., campers will go on their Tribe Hills at 8:00 pm., and the Princess Ceremony will begin at 9:00 pm or dark thirty. The Camp store will be open from 6:00 to 8:00 and you may check your daughter out and register for 2020 under the Veranda from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
Saturday, August 10th – The gates will open at 9:00 am, the Watershow will begin at 9:30, the Dance Performance will begin at 10:45, the Awards Ceremony will begin at 11:00 and campers will depart by noon. You may check your daughter out and register for 2020 under the Veranda from 8:30 to noon.
The campers (no meals for parents) will have an early supper on Friday in order to be ready for Serenades at 7:00 pm. Please note – no picnics Friday evening and parents should plan to eat before Serenades. We will not load luggage on Friday ~ we have a great system for loading luggage on Saturday, so please be patient. Be sure to pick up your daughter’s medicine in the Infirmary before you leave on Saturday. Also, do not ask to take your daughter early – this all may not sound important to you, but it is very important to your daughter to finish the term and to cheer for her tribe. We try very hard to stay on schedule and we ask that you take a deep breath and just enjoy the Closing events with your family and friends. This is not the time nor place for alcohol and CHC is a smoke-free campus.
Thanks for sharing your daughter with us this term ~ we hope we gave her a wholesome, unplugged experience and she comes home a little more confident and ready to face the real world again!
