Our first Cabin Night on Wednesday was a lot of fun for the girls.  Last night the Sub Debs and Jr Debs played Gold Rush and the Riflery, Archery and Riding clubs went on a cook-out on the hill.  Tonight we will have Sub Deb Waterfront and tomorrow we will have a sleep-in, Water Day and a camp wide cook-out on the waterfront.  The days are going way too fast around here.

We are sending an email in a few minutes about the departure time for Closing Day, August 8th.  If you have any questions, please email or call.  We are going to Live Stream the Watershow – 10 am Friday, Serenades 7:00 pm on Friday and the Awards on Saturday morning at 9:30 on our Camp Honey Creek Facebook page.  If you are not following that page, please go follow us so this will all work for you next weekend.

Have a happy weekend and we will do the same.

Happy Wednesday!!  Monday night we had Cabin Song Night on the field and that was a good time.  Last night we had Rockstar at the Memorial Arbor and we were amazed by so many talented acts.  We are trying to do all our evening activities outside – so far so good.

Tonight is our first Cabin Night where each cabin eats a box supper somewhere around camp and they bond with a cabin activity.  Tomorrow we will have a cook-out for the Archery, Campcraft and Riflery clubs.  We are cramming everything into these 18 days, for sure.  Friday we will have Sub Deb Waterfront which is always a crowd pleaser.

Information will be sent soon about Closing Day and the pick-up schedule for August 8th.  This is all going by too quickly and I know for a fact that these girls are having a blast!

It seems like we have had a busy few days around here.  Friday night we had the Big and Little Sister Rally on the flagpole field and everyone seemed to have a great time.   Saturday night the girls went on their tribe hills followed by our Princess ceremony on the waterfront.  It’s always a beautiful ceremony.  Sunday we were busy with picture day followed by Free Swim after Rest Period and our first movie, “Incredibles 2”.  Tonight Cabin 12 will go on their overnight and the rest of the camp will have Cabin song night.

Just a reminder –  if you see the girls without their masks and with a group, it means they are with their cabinmates which is considered their family.   The girls are being so great about their masks!!!

Second term is off to a fast start.  We had a WONDERFUL Opening Day on Wednesday followed by tribe drawings for the new campers, registration and tribe meetings.  Thursday was the first day of classes and everyone is learning their schedules.  Tonight we will have our Big and Little Sister rally on the flagpole field and that is always a fun event.  Summer camp and having the girls be socially distant has been a challenge but the girls are doing everything we ask of them – think they are just so excited to be here and out of the city!!!

Taking pictures has also been a small challenge and if you see the girls without masks that means they are in the same cabin and that is their family and that’s ok.  Masks mean they are in different cabins and that’s ok too.  We are trying so hard to keep them 6 feet apart and they have been troopers about wearing their masks whenever we ask.

I hope to post pictures every Monday, Wednesday and Friday mid-morning.  If I am not right on time, it means something has come up and I will get them posted as soon as I can.

Last night I saw a group of 8B campers running by chasing each other and I said, “that’s why we worked so hard to make camp happen.”  Listening to the girls giggle and scream makes it all worth it.  This will be a summer to remember for sure.

We can’t believe that First Term is over!!! We hope you were able to watch all the Closing activities on Facebook.  We had a couple of glitches, but overall it worked well.  Thanks for your patience.

Second Term arrives tomorrow and we are praying for healthy campers and we have another great session for these girls.

Thanks for trusting us this summer – we know it wasn’t always easy, but everyone did their very best and that’s all we asked.  Just think, when the girls return to school they will be the role models for wearing masks – wearing a mask in 100 plus heat was a challenge but these girls never complained – think they were just so happy to be at Camp.

If you haven’t registered for 2021, please mail your application card and deposit to reserve your spot.  Here’s hoping and praying that 2021 will be more of a normal summer!!
